Peggy administers oaths and affirmations, takes affidavits, and takes statutory declarations under Alberta's Notaries and Commissioners Act. Pick the one that matches your document for the full detail, or call and describe the form.
A written statement you swear or affirm is true. Used any time a court, employer, insurer or government office needs your account of something on the record.
A formal declaration of fact made outside of court. Alberta Registries, insurers and benefit programs ask for these constantly.
Swearing on a religious text or making a solemn affirmation — both carry identical legal weight. It's entirely your choice, and you'll never be asked to explain why.
Travelling without one parent? Border officers routinely ask for a commissioned consent letter. Book before you pack — these are the ones people leave to the last minute.
Many forms simply need an impartial commissioner to watch you sign and confirm you are who you say you are.
Being mobile is the whole point. If getting out is difficult — or simply inconvenient — Peggy comes to you, including evenings and weekends.
Fees
You get the full amount — travel included — before Peggy leaves for your address. E-transfer, credit, debit and cash all work, and a receipt is issued every time.
Alberta does not set a fixed tariff for Commissioners for Oaths, so fees vary between providers. These are Peggy's, published so you can compare.

Scope of the role
In Alberta this is a Notary Public function, not a Commissioner for Oaths one. If your form says "certified true copy" or "notarized copy", you need a notary — Peggy will tell you straight away rather than waste your appointment.
An Alberta Commissioner for Oaths has authority within Alberta only. The document can be used elsewhere in many cases, but the signing has to happen here.
Peggy can explain the commissioning process and what an oath means. She can't tell you what to write, whether to sign, or what your document means for your case — that's a lawyer's job.
The content has to be yours. Fill in every blank before the appointment, but leave the signature and date lines empty.
